The Centre for HomeOwnership & Economic Development Corporation is a 501 (C) (3) Not-for-Profit Community Development Corporation designated as a U. S. Department of Housing and Urban (HUD) Approved Housing Counseling Agency and a Certified Community Development Entity (CDE) through the U. S. Department of Treasury. Our purpose is to provide housing counseling, homebuyer education, financial wealth building, new market tax credits and economic development. Our mission is to enrich, educate and empower individuals to maximize their core values that will assist in creating homeownership opportunities and aggressively address community development.
Established in 2004, we have changed thousands of lives through guidance and long term support. We offer Affordable Housing, Financial Capital Asset Building through New Market Tax Credits and Community Support Services.
We connect our clients with supportive community networks, resources and opportunities to ease obstacles interfering with their success. Through referrals, direct service and outside agency coordination, our clients will gain access, information and support to address specific needs and gain self-sufficiency. We connect clients to community and government agencies, health care providers and other partner organizations to address their immediate and/or long term needs and goals. Clients gain enhanced knowledge in order to increase their network of support.

The CHOEDC works to promote healthy communities in North Carolina. We believe in the power of locally driven initiatives as vehicles for transformation, working with community groups to assess the challenges and opportunities they face, and formulate strategies for change.
We offer support services that will assist families and individuals to function as committed and productive members of the community, capable of stabilizing and maintaining their neighborhood(s). We also strive to improve the quality of life through providing consumer education and expanding economic opportunity.
